Chapters 4 and 5 Erin Kleber

Atticus means that we never really know the whole story unless we live it. There will always be details that we don't know. People cannot judge others when they do not know everything, If we do, we might make decisions and judgements that we regret. In the case of Boo Radley, the kids make judgements based on what they have heard from others. They have never spoken to Boo, yet decide that they know enough to form an opinion about him. Atticus' argument is that they haven't even spoken to him, and don't know what he's going through. There are many possibilities for why Boo doesn't come out of the house; the kids do not have the right to judge him based on rumors they hear from others.
