Jim Crow Laws Patrick and Joe

The Jim Crow laws tried to prevent races from congregating with each other.  They were in effect from 1876 until 1965.  Black men were considered lower than white men.  In waiting rooms, blacks and whites were separated from each other, just like in trains they were put into railcars based on race. White and black men could not play games in a bar together or in the same restaurant.  Intermarriages were considered forbidden in some states and null and void in others.  They were put in place to make white people superior to blacks and minorities, and they greatly angered many people.
