The Scottboro boys, was a group of 9 teenage African American boys accused of gang raping 2 white girls on a freight train run in Alabama. The Scottboro boys were caught in the middle of a fight with a group of white boys going to look for work in Memphis. the boys went to the station master, who wired ahead to the next station. They collected a group of soldiers who rangled up all of the blacks on the train and tied them up and took them to jail. Many hoped that the boys would be lynched. The trials of the boys started twelve days after the arrest. Many trials and retrials took place to make a fair case. During the case many lives were ruined, stars rose, and hero's were made. This case opened up the courthouse to blacks.
